#UnshakableFriendship — Remembering 3/11
Every spring we celebrate the friendship between Japan and the United States, as symbolized by the cherry trees around the Tidal Basin, which were a gift to Washington D.C. from Tokyo.
This year, we are also marking the 10th Anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake, and again thanking Americans for the generous support that shined like a ray of hope during Japan’s darkest hour.
Embassy of Japan Events
The National Museum of Asian Art, the Japan Information & Culture Center and the National Cherry Blossom Festival commemorate this occasion with films by two master filmmakers who look at the disaster’s legacy.
